Fathepur Sikri
Built by the people’s emperor Akbar, the Fatehpur Sikri is a nice example of how a planned city under the Mughal Empire looks like in terms of planning and architecture. Nicknamed as “City of Victory” by Emperor Akbar who defeated the Gujarat rulers in the battle. Unfortunately, this planned city has been ruled for only 14 hours and after that, it has been lost and abandoned by the Akbar due to unknown reasons. Being a ghost town for a few centuries, the city was later reopened and developed to promote tourism.

Delhi
Akshardham Temple
Won the Guinness book of world records for being the largest comprehensive Hindu temple in the world, this mammoth temple was opened in 2005 displaying the 10000 years of India’s rich cultural and heritage. The temple houses 20k statues of divine figures in the temple. Another interesting place to visit in Akshadaram temple is the lotus garden, which was, designed in such a way that you can see the Lotus like structure from above. There are 10 gates in this temple, which represents 10 directions according to the Vedic Literature.

Lotus temple
This beautiful lotus looking temple in Delhi has garnered critical acclaim from the world for its architectural masterpiece. Opened in 1986, the lotus temple welcomes its visitors of all religious faith. Designed by the Iranian architect Fariborz Sahba, the lotus temple is built to look like a half-open lotus.
This temple doesn’t have any idol or statue to worship inside the temple. Due to the complicated design of the temple, it took 10000 + different sizes of marbles to build this temple. The lotus temple is one of the seven centres in the world that follows the Bahai religion of worship.

Jaipur
City palace
This beautiful looking royal palace was built in 1729-32 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh 2, who moved his court from Amber to Jaipur. This palace is built with Rajput, Mughal and European style. The part of the city palace houses the museum and the other half is the residence of the descendants of the former rulers of Jaipur.
The city palace houses eight mahals inside the complex. They are:
- Chandra mahal
- Mubarak mahal
- Pritam Nivas chowk
- Diwan – I- Aam
- Diwan-I-Khas
- Baggi Khana
- Maharani Palace
- Govinddevji temple.

Hawa Mahal
Located adjacent to the city palace, The Hawa Mahal is also known as the “Palace of winds” the exterior of Hawa mahal, which has a 5 storey building that looks like a honeycomb. It is said that the Hawa Mahal is filled with 950+ small windows used for ventilation. Built in 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh and designed by Lal Chand Ustad. Another interesting fact about Hawa Mahal is built so that the royal women can see their everyday street life through the small windows.
